Why we need it?
We rely on fundraising and generous donations from our members and the general public to enable us to continue the valuable work we do in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming equines in need. Without fundraising we simply would not exist. The money raised goes towards the daily care of all our horses, ponies and donkeys as well as helping to cover the costs of unexpected veterinary bills, maintaining the stables and paddocks and purchasing new equipment such as tack and wheelbarrows without which we could not care for the equines on our yard. If you would like to keep up to date with our work and fundraising activities you can become a member by clicking here or follow us on FB.
How can you fundraise for us?
You can help raise money for us in a number of ways whether you already have fundraising experience or this is your first time, we are here to help and inspire you. We can offer advice and fundraising materials for your event. Sponsored events such as rides, sky-dives, walks and runs are a great way to raise money and get other people involved. If you would prefer to start your fundraising with a smaller simpler event car-boot sales, cake sales and auctions can also raise valuable funds that help us continue our work and are easy to set up and take part in.
If you are organising or taking part in any sponsored event you can download a sponsorship form. The form will help you to get the information about your sponsors that you need to collect the gift-aid.

Annual Christmas Appeal
Our Annual Christmas Appeal contributes to our income thanks to the generosity of individuals and members and highlights what we are raising money for at that time. At Christmas 2017 we appealed for funds to pay for Basils operation at Rossdales and raised over £4000 towards it
Collection Tins
Collection tins are a great way of raising extra funds for our charity. If you have a business, organize an event, or want to assist us at out supermarket collections give us a call on 01502 679191 or email us at info@HorseRescueFund.org.uk to arrange collecting some collection tins from us. Local shops will often allow you to place a tin in them on our behalf, please ask. If you have a collecting tin and wish to donate the money directly please download a donation form.
Donation of Goods
Of course we welcome any financial donations but we are also able to use unwanted gifts and other items in tombolas and raffles, horsy or non horsy! Anyone wishing to donate any unwanted horse equipment in good condition can phone the yard direct to make sure that there are staff on the yard to welcome them. We use the majority of these items on our rescue horses on the yard but others we sell to raise more money.
Events
Please support us at our fundraising events or why not have some fun organising some of your own?
Horse Rescue Fund Horse Show
This is by far our largest fundraising event, held locally every August or September. Details are available on the ‘News’ page on our website, on FB and www.horsedates.co.uk. We are always looking for help towards this event in many ways.
Our first task is to find individuals or companies willing to sponsor all of our classes and Championships, so if you would like to support us in this way then please contact the yard direct for more details. Your name, your company name or even that of your horse can be printed on the rosette tails and if you wish to provide any promotional material we are willing to display that on the day.
We always need physical help with the setting up of the horse show, arenas and jumps, any help is ALWAYS welcome with this.
Items for our TOMBOLA again are always welcome and we are well known for our large tombola with some fantastic prizes kindly donated from individuals and many top equine companies. If you have any items please feel free to donate them for the tombola.
We always welcome volunteers on the day and anyone who would like to Steward some of the classes or just help on the day is most welcome.
We have a large number of classes for horses so why not bring your equines along. There is even a class for Lorry Dogs too.
Legacies
Gifts in Wills are by far our largest and most important source of income, and peoples generosity continues for many years after their passing to help many horses in the future.
Membership
Members and membership helps us in several ways. By being a member the money you gift brings in a regular income whilst being a member you can help us fundraise in may of the ways we have listed, without your help and support we could not continue.
Recycling
We welcome old postage stamps and are currently looking for companies to recycle old mobile phones and cartridges.
Sponsorship
Companies and individuals can sponsor one of our horses or ponies and this is a lovely way to connect with our equines on a personal level. Sponsorships also make great gifts for family members and animal loving friends.
Volunteer
Anyone wishing to volunteer to fundraise for us is most welcome to. If you need help at an event then please contact us direct. We welcome volunteers at our events such as our show and supermarket collections. From time to time we have volunteers, 16 years old and over on the yard to work alongside our staff, anyone with equine knowledge is an advantage. Please contact the Yard Manager.
Special Occasions
Have you got a birthday or special event coming up? You could ask guests to make a donation to us instead of receiving gifts yourself. You would be helping equines in need to get the care and treatment they need before they are ready to find loving new loan homes. For more information on making donation please see our Donations page.
